The casino has been around for millennia in many forms and places. The oldest traces of casino gambling date to 2300 BC China, when archaeologists discovered wooden blocks used in games of chance. Gambling took on a more sophisticated form in the 1400s with the introduction of playing cards. In the late 20th century, casino culture exploded with the growth of the Internet, which made it easier for gamblers to find and play games from home.
